Apsari And Civilization Poem by Jinnuraine Jaigirdar

Apsari And Civilization

Ah! The creator of world peace —
Civilization laughs, awaiting its reward.
Who knows what will happen, or when?
The full moon laughs,
The sunlight ridicules,
Heaven and earth deride,
Actors simper,
The crowd cackles.

When silence happens — what then?
Competition wakes in its hope;
Politeness weeps in the failure of grace.
The new moon mourns,
The evening sun bellows,
Heaven and earth clamour,
Actors groan,
And the poor lament.

In the swing of laughter and tears,
Politeness stands surprised —
The shy dancer of mortals
Brings austerity to the dance.
The veiled doubt of heaven's Apsari,
The monstrous wonder of hell —
Civilization, stunned by the poet's disobedience,
Lets humour hang between laughter and tears.

Time turns stony — a fleeting, painful weight.
Break the chains of civilization, abandon silence;
Practice the beauty of being truly civil.
