'And hear the pleasant cuckoo, loud and long - The simple bird that thinks two notes a song; ' - so lovely! I entirely agree to the poet's observation about the cuckoo's coos. Glad to see this beautiful poem getting the honour of the selection as the 'Classic Poem of the day'! 5 Stars*****!
Lovely poem. Reading of it in December takes me into the charming world of April away from the cold and frigid temperatures.
Beautiful imageries unsparingly sprinkled to project nature's uniqueness.
Great rhymes. No crime at all here. I liked the metaphor of the two note cuckoo. Way imaginative
Another inspiring sentimental stanza from Davies at April month, “One breath outdoors, takes all my cares away' April is painful month for Armenians, as genocide event* started that date. But April sings April, no-one can toast goodbye. _________________________________________ *Armenian Genocide(24 April 1915) Welsh and Scottish parliaments recognized our genocide but not English... yet! _________________________________________________________
When April scatters charms of primrose gold ... When I go forth on such a pleasant day, One breath outdoors takes all my cares away; It goes like heavy smoke, when flames take hold Of wood that's green and fill a grate with gold. /// a beautiful poem; April; it's the beautiful time of the earth; It is thought that the name April comes from the Latin word " to open" and describes the trees opening at springtime.
