Reminds me a bit of the sign: Abandon all hope, ye who enter. Wonderful writing, Douglas. I hope to see more along these lines

Yes it seems a sign saying 'Don't Approach' would be more suitable. I'm not familiar with Heart of Darkness, but the poem it inspired is undeniably poignant and intelligent
