Appointment Poem by PRAVEEN KUMAR English Poems

Appointment

However long I walk,
There are more to walk;
However far I cross,
There are more to cross.

No end to human sight,
No limit to my strength;
How far I fix my sight,
Challenging is prospects.

Started with faltering steps,
I walked fairly far till now;
Slipped, fell, stood up and ran,
What I crossed is not small.

But more of it calls now,
Legs refuse to take rest;
Road is full of rise and falls,
But I yearn to cover them all.

Path ahead is not straight,
Left and right turns are norms;
But I always look straight
And know to push forward.

Thorns and snakes hide in wait,
Huge rocks stand on route;
But committed am I to meet,
Nothing shirks a determined soul.

I see at far horizon,
Rising sun calling me up;
He promises new landscapes
To invent and discover.

All is not fun altogether,
Hard work and commitment;
I find my fulfilment
In accepting challenges.

It is my appointment,
It is life's appointment;
Smilingly I carry out it,
Happily I do what I must.
