Appointed Time Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

Appointed Time

Waiting I've patiently waited for my blessings to come
Yet it hasn't get to my turn

Fervently I've prayed and fasted for days
Still illfare stares at my face

While tabling my case to God
Always running away from doing wrong

On a continuous knock at the heavens gate
consistently I've kept to my faith

Not running to strange gods so my life could be redeemed
In enmity with my foes close allies I've been

Thinking they are the cause of my flaw
While waiting for the appointed time to come

I've forgotten to be busy with my hands
So tomorrow would be of good fortune when it land

Several opportunities have knocked my door
But non I've answered their call

How come I act like one that's blind?
To have allowed so much opportunities suddenly pass me by

There is no special period meant to be appointed time
This and more we should all try to redefine

Our success usually depends on what we make out of our time
Not just sitting patiently waiting on divine.
