I do not claim to understand even a single thing in life and so I don't completely rule some things out (beyond a 99.9999999% probability) But if it were possible to trace a regression of cause and effect back to its source, there is most likely a rational explanation for why you use that term. It could be as innocuous as an initial slip of the tongue that stuck or something overheard (at a subliminal level?) or maybe even a brain tumor : -)
I think subliminal must be it. i do have an interest in languages and a linguistic memory might well be explained by studies, especially in Romance Languages. I remember the story of Jacques Couer. A woman could describe his house perfectly though she had never been to France and it was alleged that he was a pretty well unknown character. So it was assumed that her regression was genuine. In fact I had a fairly standard History book and it had a picture of his house in it! Not only that he was a very powerful man, being a banker to the French Kings (i think Louis the X! V) and very famous!
So it is easy to be deceived. I'd rule out brain tumour. I'd used the word for many years and never have headaches, only PH! One thing I can't remember when I started using it. If I could I'd probably solve the mystery. I do share your skepticism in this matter.
