Rating: 4.8

Poverty sunken stars failed to twinkle in the eyes.
About to dip from the sky and fall in the ocean wide.

Sounds humanity as poverty is expressed here in your poem importantly mostly in narrative style, well done, thanks for sharing the poem with us

An excellent poem written on a soul devoured by poverty. I entirely agree with Susan Williams words- 'you showed the inevitable end of a homeless life'. I also agree with her that this should have been the 'Poem Of The Day'.

Wow this is like your masterpiece, so powerfully written so impressive how u used ants all along so creatively unto the end. Susan is right, this should be the poem of the day. Poverty and starvation presented dramatically. Kudos. Pleez do write your thoughts under my newest poem too, titled, dark skinned vs fair skin, I would love to hear your views

Geetha, you wrote this exactly right. You showed poverty in its every pitiless, relentless, hopeless, horrifying detail. You did not pull your punches, you showed the inevitable end of a homeless life. The title now takes on a devastating meaning- well done choosing that title and that exclamation point- -the perfect title. This should be poem of the day. It gets a million 10's from me and a place on my fav list. And a donation to our church's food bank.

Poverty is still a curse amid all material progress and technological development....! There are poverty deaths also! Imagine a situation when our own fellow beings dying of starvation and being turned into food for ants and rodents! You have drawn the ugly face of the so called 'progress'!

Today is the ant's celebration day. Enjoying the big feast along with rats and insects. Seeds of poverty were sown since long, Today also it thrives in our soil. Will it ever be swept from our lives? .......sensitive ending. A beautiful philosophical poem shared. Thanks.
