I stand and watch the exodus of ants
Through zigzag tracks, they wind their way
They march like disciplined soldiers
Never deterred by hurdles on their way

Ants are disciplined and laborious. If by chance some get hurt or wounded then others generously carry them on their back. They are too helpful. They are tiny but they can carry ten times of their weight. They live in unity and harmony. A beautiful poem so nicely executed.10

Unity is their strength, this, through precept they prove They work together and live in harmony They never rob another of his property Nor like man covet his neighbour's money! Ants and honey bees have a society and a government, in many affairs of life they are better than humans.

Wonderful work! Mankind should always learn from the ants. To live in unity; than with hatred and war. Nice piece of work.

Sorry. I just checked and the name of my poem is just ANT HIGHWAY instead of THE ANT HIGHWAY. Once again, fantastic job on this poem of yours, Valsa.

I love this latest creation of yours about ants. I had to write a paper about ants way back in elementary school (long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away) and have been fascinated by ants ever since. I also have a poem about ants. I think I called it THE ANT HIGHWAY. I wish I had found the picture you used here. It's better than the one I found, which only shows a single ant on a leaf. Although the ideal picture would show the ants collectively carrying leaves, which is what inspired the poem in the first place. Anyway, your poem is very well done, my dear friend.

Wonderful message in here through Ant's journey! I loved reading the poem for its relevance in every day life encounters. Sometimes, we simply ignore and at times we pay attention with full zest to enjoy the nature's discipline..... Tiny in nature yet powerful in deed. Their strength in unity and hard working nature are depicted in their actions. Thanks for the share Mam!

This is a remarkable poem. You convey detailed information about ants which is fascinating. But it is your carefully modulated tones that strike me as so impressive. At no point to you condescend and treat the ants in a cavalier manner. They have their integrity as earth creatures and you scale your perception to their reality. Respect is the dominant message you convey and I find it very fulfilling.

Actually, some ants do just that, steal from others. Some ants also enslave other species of ants, and some enslave other insects, such as aphids.

Superb..what amazing observation and the way you have described the lives of ants is so accurate and precise. The lesson you have derived from their life puts man to shame. A receptive mind like yours learns from Nature and surroundings. They never rob another of his property...nor like man covet his neighbors money...that's the perfect finale. A definite 10.

Close observation and deep interest in nature are thoughtfully reflected in this poem. Live like an ant they say. Ants stand for unity, strength, hard work, compassion and so on. All characteristics have been brought out beautifully.
