Anticapation Poem by W.I. Stoneberger

Anticapation

Rating: 5.0

The May breeze off the ocean is still too cold,
though it's calling.
Summer will soon seduce us
with the startle of the sun
and the sweat-stained, narcotic nights.
We'll wander into the wilderness,
shedding our inhibitions and our old skins.
We'll go skinny-dipping in moonshine,
and dance across the dunes
until the season goes down.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

You painted lovely pictures in Anticipation. 'summer will seduce us with the startle of the sun and the sweat-stained, narcotic nights'. The best picture for me was the skinny-dipping in the moonshine, and dancing across the dunes. The last line tops it all off beautifully. 10 Karin Anderson
