Another Side Of The Morning Sun Poem by Dorsey Baker

Another Side Of The Morning Sun

Life has no chains
death cannot break
we drink
empty cups of blood
for useless sake
we try to
speak in tongues
we do not understand
afraid
to walk
among strangers
in a foreign land
we make excuses
for our laziness
and pretend
that we are fully alive
demons come out
of the darkness
into the light
but knowing
they cannot survive
snakes climb
mountains way up high
falsely thinking
they can touch the sky
the gods of men
cannot save them
when they come to
their wicked doom
the rain will fall
and another
flower will bloom
