Wow! I too can understand what you are saying within these lines - I can identify totally with this poem.. There is no plateau for me, I write constantly. (1 to 122 poems a day) Go into depths of my being, family complains I don't talk to them. Yet, when I talk they don't listen anyway. Through writing only do people hear what I am saying. I am a mere poet, nothing more. Very thought inducing poem Thomas! Quite good! Thank you for sharing it! RoseAnn

Wow! I can totally understand. For a while that's how I was, too. Now I seem to have hit a plateau where the poems are few and far between. Related to Allotey Abossey's comment below, when I was a teacher I was totally engrossed in that, and I fear that I spent far too much time on my job than I did with my family. Now my wife, children and grandchildren are the most important things in my life.

I have but a few hobbies. One is teaching. When I'm teaching I feel like there's nothing or no one else. my love for the kids just a few things if not nothing at all gets closer to it but I believe we've got to make time for those other things or people that matter. It's important. Good work
