That's a great summons to the other Alices! I do hope they invite you back. // This poem has an amazing creative use of language, it's almost surrealist in tone, if not in content. The French surrealists under the leadership of Andre Breton considered Lewis Carroll a proto-surrealist ders. (Alice surly did just that!) and ALICE a surrealist adventure. What all of this means is language is used not to convey a single coherent meaning like ordinary communication, but rather release people from ordinary thoughts so that they could experience marvels and wonders, as I did in reading this poem. The overall impression I got was people are living inadequate, uninspired lives. You are intervening in their dreams not to wake them up to more humdrum reality but to push deeper into a sleep where their dreams will liberate them. It's an exciting poem even without being fully understood.
