a horse is a noble animal, therefore we call its limbs exactly as we call for at human beings, so said my horse instructor.

P.S. (2) example here in Dutch, for animals it is POOT for leg, KOP for head/face but I have learned that for horses we mention the same as we do for men/human, so the position of a horse is higher than that of other animals in The Netherlands.

P.S. about animals we speak oft about legs, arms and head especially for animals (this is told by my dutch horse instructor) but for horses, for a horse, we always say about a leg, arm and head in definition especially for men.
