Do you sense a brokenness in the way that this poem is shaped - two wings poised in flight, but barely able to rise above ground. This is how most widows feel - maybe, I can speak for some of them - as their husbands have always been the wind beneath their wings. Being deprived of the wind is utterly devastating and will take a lifetime to recover from.
I Tim 5: 4 - But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.
This is a deeply moving piece. Quite intense.
