“Mama, can you put us in your luggage? ”...reminds me of the child who thought that he could just ask Santa to bring his late sibling back. We do what we can, and that usually adds up to what is available. One day your precious offspring will thank you for what they are going thru now. In the meantime, the hurt does not diminish. neither for them nor for you. Nice write, but could offer more pain when you see fit to 'talk about it.'

Such a tug of heart poem & well expreseed. I have poems about my angels I am not ready to post yet. Although they are all grown up now, it's still heartwrenching every time we say goodbye. It is so hard to leave our children. I think you hit on one of the more painful time in motherhood and that is seperation. It is a very good read.

Honestly written emotion of a mother's parting grief. It is always such a sad time and you brought out that poignancy very well Joan.

There is no love easy to leave standing in an airport, least of all a child's love.
