Ok...So I dont know the story of Angeline in reference to Poe. I tried to google it, but found little? However, you've captured the feeling of Poe's writing in your poetic tribute. As a written poem, independent of the tribute, I think this is the best written one. I really like the flow of the writing and the feel that you've created with your soulful, painful, wistful, dark, shadowy imagery. Your Poe tribute has turned into a wonderful flow of creative energy. Well done...and please explain to us less informed on Poe's life. Also an aside, we were driving home this afternoon, and my youngest was reading The Fall of the House of Usher to my middle child, while he fell asleep on his shoulder. Very entertaining drive! :)
I am drawn to the romance, the mystery, the determination and honor. This pre-computer world of raw living and loving. So yes Angeline is pure fiction inspired by the writings of Poe which in turn were inspired by the loss of his mother and young wife Virginia well as the abandonment and obstacles men posed in his life. That is the most superficial observation that I can make. The rest of the story goes so much deeper.
Standing alone in winter midnight sparks emotion in dark as light to express wise poem in this text. Wonderful sharing done....10
