Keeping faithful watch
for angels, I have become one.
But my wings are folded.

I, too spread my prisoned wings and rise in imitation. For I know I am one of many to praise you as a poet, but you are truly a inspiration to me. Thank you :)
I can look upon this poem from a religious angle and as a symbolic representation. A person whose inner strength rests within dormant, like an angel with folded wings is incapable of flight! Only by summoning the hidden powers, like a wizard he can bring his potential to the fore and create magic. If we go for the the other interpretation and of thedivine powers ascribed to an arch angel, I believe that our cosciousness can be broadened to manifold dimensions only with the grace of a divine power! A poem deep and profound!
I love poems about angels and sometimes write about them myself. This is a must for my favorite poems.
A superb angelic poem. I believ angels exist as a matter of fact and they record in writing what we do. But there are humans who are as gud as angels. And tinytots are angels too. So kudos poet for yor imaginative take. I hope u review my latest poem too.
I like your image of an angel as representing our higher consciousness of mind and inspiration. You as a poet an angelic figure to many.
Angels play a surprisingly big role in 20th century poetry but they are not orthodox figures. The most powerful evocation, even terrifying are Rilke's in DUINO ELEGIES and Rafael Alberti's CONCERNING THE ANGELS. But I don't intend anything like their images. My angel as you saw clearly is a gentle, humane presence. And of this type of angel there are any examples living among us!
