Angel: Poem by Chris Leermakers

Angel:

A mutual friend sent me
to see if I could help
an angel in distress
I didn't know where she began
But I knew she would.one day return
regain her wings and fly.

She taught me a few things along the way
her music touched my soul
taught me forgiveness and gratitude
An unknown angel on my shoulder

She is an innocent victim and they drew first blood
A big mistake because in the end
Karma never forgets an address.

Her strength is more powerful than she knows
Drugs tried to kill her body, mind and soul
She rises from the ashes like a phoenix and now is back and ready for her next part of her life.

Living in the now
she already knows how
Looking for answers
Asking the right questions
Looking after herself
She's now in control
Love yourself today and every other day
And then you'll see the complete truth
Ashleigh the queen of hearts
will never fall again.
