Anderson Dclxxxv Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

There was nothing but Bowie playing
In the background
And I thought why am I so lonely?
But you couldn't see it
You thought I was contented
But you never saw the tears
They expressed the pain
And I thought I am so lonely
It wasn't because of a lack of trying
But you never saw the tears
That swelled up night after night
And were caught on the pillow
Like a pond I wanted to drown in
But didn't have the guts to jump into
I hope tomorrow will bring happiness
Unless tomorrow is final stop to the madness
Then, I am sure I'll be at the bottom
Of the pond

A very well crafted poem of loneliness and pain and suffering. I feel your pain, LeeAnn.
