And The Lips? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

And The Lips?

And the lips?

Each of us is unit
Each unit has units
They make us, united
As a team, as colleagues

Feet go, walk
Lift and move, hands and arms
They do more, grab, hug
Eyes see and cause joy, warn
And ears help hear, varied cause.

This goes on and goes on and goes on…

Lungs take air to help us, we breathe
Stomach, intestines help us eat

This goes on and goes on and goes on…

I wonder what lips do!
Just to talk and or kiss?
Why not be the drapes
Mouth is room, lips be shade
To cover our food, yawn
And ugly pinkish gums
Except for laugh, smile?

I'm tired of see-food
Seeing tongue with bits on
And ceiling of the mouth as if cat
When we yawn…

Where did go etiquette?
