Place the remnants of that forgotten emotion
On the ruins of a vanished ancient city;
This is what I know: lives fade out but
Memories remain, in the earth, sky and stone;
Memories and memories alone.
Whenever clouds dance in the sky; when rain pours
Onto the earth, treetops and roofs
And fingers turn rustling pages as
Thunder rumbles; across the terraces
Lights would flicker on.
A walk across the ruins in the rain.
Drumming rain going plop, plop, plop.
Walk, walk, walk. Tomorrow will come.
Destiny lies ahead, across the river
That leads to the ocean and beyond.
