When Elvis heard the Gospel song, his spirit came alive,
Because its power was so strong and meant to help him thrive,
Just like a rose that seeks the sun to blossom in its time,
Young Elvis sensed what God had done and that it was sublime.
When Elvis started his career, he sang there, centre stage,
The audience began to cheer at songs that never age.
He danced like he was Fred Astaire, just like a dynamo,
He went as far as he could dare, you should have seen him go!
When Hollywood, at last, took note, he did the best he could,
Performing songs that writers wrote while acting as he should.
In private life, he loved to bless his friends and family,
Such that his gifts brought happiness and also loyalty.
With Gospel albums now and then he set the bar real high,
How Great Thou Art still blesses men and also Who Am I?
And that's how I will still recall the King of Rock and Roll,
Because he was a miracle who truly blessed my soul.
