Ancient Holm Oak Poem by james watkin

Ancient Holm Oak

Have raged, storm-changes, high and low
Near and far about you.
Holm oak; hilled germanic.
Hard to shake, what bears up well in.
Tree, you're that old stoic!

Warring heavens, and that, sounds for
Their shadow influence
In battlefields, earthly.
As a neutral witness of sorts
An unsurpassed. Speech-free!
