Anchors Away Poem by Gio Masserati

Anchors Away

Anchors Away,

So, let me get this straight
If you may find yourself
Drinking
Than anything you do
Or may do
Is okay?
By who? ...you?

So, it's okay?
Because you've had too much
Or your drunk
Past drunk
Are you then not responsible?
That's your excuse?
And hers?

So then,
I guess you won't

See

Why?
Because your reality
It's misperceived

Anything off limits
Will occasionally
Or
Like...Everytime
You drink
You'll justify your actions

...like an Anchor

Drowning in the deep
Blue Sea

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Drowning sorrows in alcoholism and irresponsible indiscretion... homewreckers and the like. Selfishness and inconsideration toward others that feel the genuine waves of your wake.
