u are absolutely positively correct! ! amazing! u speak of it perfectly
Very nice I enjoyed your description. The poem also accomplishes its task of exposing what arrogance is. Wonderful work!
A summary of excelling discernment on the subject of arrogance Robert.... first class metaphor usage too...... I really enjoyed the read and shall put this into my favourites...... greetings from Fay....
a lovely depiction of arrogance...a shivering ball of fear, wrapped in a crust of pride...lovely
a disturbing image you paint Robert, however it depicts arrogance quite accurately and portrays it with little bias or at least i read little bias coming from your works wonderfully terrifying, Timothy
I have reviewed your assertions and findings and hold them to be anatomically irrefutable. Now may I return to my upstandingly seated position! !
Beautiful my friend. This is so often the case behind arrogant behavior. It hides deep insecurities. Very vivid descriptions, yet short and to the pt. I really liked
An eloquent penning of the limitations fear imposes upon the self. I might extend the metaphor to politics, but individual psychology will have to do, for now. The huddling fear of the novel, the unknown, is an impediment to wisdom. This poem is liberating.
I've certainly felt like a ball of terror with a mask. I like your evocation of fluidity in this piece, Robert, and its rather abstract quality, that yet zeroes in on true human situations.
i loved this poem..its sp true..we forget that arrogance is really a very scared AND LONELY PERSON INSIDE
Charles, just in from a lovely vacation and read your comments about my own poetry. Thought I'd return the favor. This is the first piece of yours I've read, I think. It's absolutely brilliantly rendered and amazingly honest too. Thanks for sharing.
A high C held six bars-long and fortissimo goes for this beautiful poem.
This is an excellent poem. It really shows how arrogant people are really not overly confident like the appear to be but actually frightened and so afraid of showing their vulnerable side.
A truly unpleasant but often sad device for concealing the awful truth - nothing of value, to either self or others! Strange how often the most capable and rounded human beings are the most humble, while their shallow opposites slip so naturally into this disguise. A razor sharp analysis Robert - would apply to the classic bully personality just as effectively, though it might be difficult to separate the two. Wise beyond words as usual!
brilliant stuff. great description of my most despised human frailty. nice one al.
Arrogance can spring out of a totally nasty soul, but, yes, it can also spring out of a heart filled with fear as a defense mechanism. Very good expose of the topic.
