An Upset Lover Poem by Dr Dillip K Swain

An Upset Lover

Rating: 5.0

I can't call you a traitor
As you promised me
To live together forever
To divide and share
Our sorrows and joys
Half and half together

You inspired me to
Be the man that you wanted
I altered myself as you needed
Because in my daydream
I dreamt of you
To walk together
To sing together
To dine together
To feel each other's touch
To feel each other's breath
And million such promises
That we made for our love.

Alas, time snatched you from me
Leaving me alone
Making me a forlorn
That I never dreamt of
When we were in the garden of
Of our love
Passing hours and hours
Graced with the redolent flowers
Lovely sun shines and whispering air
Perceived like a feeble second
In such a couched love
Where have you gone?
Leaving me alone..!

I am legworking for you in villages
On footpaths, in towns and cities
And I will outlive doing it
Till my legs are able to walk
Till my eyes are able to see
If at all I can see you from distance
To glance at your countenance
If my love has taken a space
On your transformed face

On our possible meeting
In this life, I won't speak to you
Only my silence will whisper
In your sensitive ear
I love you forever.
