An Unspoken Love Story Poem by Dr Vidya Hariharan

An Unspoken Love Story

She never said, she loved me
Not once, not even when I was ill,
But she kept the food hot
She knew my asthma would worsen
So, she dusted the house every day.
She never held my hand in the park,
Or asked for flowers for her hair,
But she draped the towel on the rack
And placed my shoes on the stand.
When I came home late
The worry in her eyes spoke to me,
She bore my children
And raised them well.
Though she never said the words,
I knew she loved me with all her heart.
And I, I shall love her till
The day I die.
