An Unglorified Entry Poem by Raymond Farrell

An Unglorified Entry

In the hazy glow
Of the street lamp
I noticed how
He mounted the tavern steps
Raising his knees high
Overstepping with inebriation
Just as I passed
He reached the landing
Belching loudly
Turning to the door
He entered passing out of sight
An unglorified entry
If there ever was one.
