'How quickly death surrounded her' You tell so much of cancer's stark reality in that opening line. To anyone who has heard the 'C' word pronounced as diagnosis this poem won't carry much surprise. Unfortuantely that includes a great many people. Unfair though it may be this is a terror which touches many lives. Compelling write Linda.
Stunning dipiction...painted with darkness...chill, and magnificence. One of my favorites of yours to date...And, thus, i have clicked, and placed this gem in my very small collection of ''Favorite Poems'', Excellent work, Midnight. ~ FjR ~
The poignancy of your story is compounded by the sharpness of the delivery and the lack of sentimentality in the telling. 'The battle was short-lived Definitely a one sided affair Nothing fair about dying' This stanza hit hard. Strong, uncompromising poetry. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Captured well but I never want to be part of the entrapment...
Most unfortunate! But we are born only to die one day! Pl. refer to some of my poems on death in the PH.
