An Ordinary Day Comments

Rating: 4.9

The joggers running around the lake
Looked as if they were about to give birth.
They say no pain no gain but they were
Obviously stressed out to say the least.

The beauty of ordinary moments could be lost but it would be tragic!

Hi David, I feel as if I am walking round the lake. I wondered by seeing the local British (While I went to Reading, UK) or Americans (while I went to Seattle) wishing 'Hi' with a smile. Nice poem.

Different slant on an ordinary day which as the poem goes on the ending explains it all and the skill of the writer, nice to read...regards

this is so right on David...meeting new people, doing kind deeds for others....just being in someone's presence can be a big deal for many are lonely, have no family or abandoned...our word can be so cruel and vicious...I see it getting colder and colder....like the ice age is here....it makes me sad

Good feelings radiate from this poem, but especially the last stanza. Just a smile or kind word from a stranger can have such a great impact, not just on the day, but sometimes on our lives.

Nothing ordinary about this poem David. Once again you manage to paint a vivid picture in words.

Ordinary becomes extraordinary in the eyes of the poet and it becomes a source of joy for all the readers. Great poem. Thank you David.

A very vivid and profound write, the lake scene aptly painted but your words. The lines are light and smooth, gently touching one's sensibilities and creates a tranquil mood. Very nice indeed.

A casual day around an ordinary lake and casual scenes. Yet it has a charm of its own! Such trivialities of life make life colourful! Enjoyed the lake scene with joggers running around and mums with pushchairs strolling with their infants and toddlers!

A great poem, I always try and do something different every day, it doesn't always work out like it should but it makes some kind of change.

we take the ordinary in to something special. Life is just ordinary, just natural, a true poet only can know it, thanks.

Turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. What a wonderful thought. And that's just what we poets do. Thanks.
