An Old Episode Of Of Star Trek Poem by Paula Glynn

An Old Episode Of Of Star Trek

Watching an old episode of Star Trek
I can only imagine being in space
Even though I have always
Flown on advanced airplanes
Man having once landed on the moon

I don't fear being in the sky
I don't fear being up that high
Thousands of feet up in the air
Sitting on that airplane seat
In comfort and with no care

Watching an old episode of Star Trek
I can only imagine being on the Space Station
Orbiting earth at hundreds of miles per hour
Through the change of day to night
Capturing images of earth in orbit

I don't fear travelling through outer space
I don't fear being up high
Beyond earth's atmosphere
Like a satellite travelling
Through the solar system and beyond

Watching that old episode of Star Trek
I see computers and touch screens
I see mobile talking devices
What we know now as smart phones
Talking across vast distances

Watching that old episode of Star Trek
I see a vision of the future
I see modern and amazing computers
I see NASA searching the Milky Way
I see NASA send satellites into deep space

The human race has reached
The incredible 21st century
We have technology beyond
What we thought we'd need
We have knowledge of science

We have a better understanding:
We know our physics
We know our chemistry
We know our biology
We know our mathematics

Time doesn't stop, the never ending clock
Time moves on constantly like the
Revolving of this beautiful earth
A blue and green fast spinning ball
That forever leaves us to think and recall.

Man has almost touched the boundary of the universe. Thanks to the advancement in technology. Someday reaching moon will be as easy as riding a bus to the office. Nice write.
