An Ode To Night,2nd Edition

Poem: An Ode to night
Poet: Matloob Bokhari
Country: Pakistan
I love the silent hours of the charmed night
Refreshing, relaxing and enlivening
That sweep away all the worries and cares of life
In the magical hours after sunset
Lovers come out together in each other company
Playing music, dancing in arms,
Cuddling up under the stars in front of roaring fire.
Telling stories and memories, sitting around the burning bonfire with burning love,
Heer Sial, fairer than the milky moon, came out too to meet Ranjha Jogi
Looking majestic in her black velvet gown
Curly hair were dancing on her shoulder with night breeze
The flowers, scent of roses and chirping birds welcomed her with their music.
Moonlight drowned everything except her milky face.
The moon, living in darkness, guided her with her brightness
She enjoyed listening the music of night sky and saw the dance of the darkness.
Thinkers, dreamers and poets came out in the garden of love
Fragrance surrounded them
And thoughts rained upon their minds
In the quiet beauty of the coloured sky
I came out to see the delightful sight of the moon.
But ah! Above moonlit night
Stars and constellations.
Beneath darkness
It is midnight time
The whole world is fast asleep
I am wandering in the midnight
I am wandering alone
Alone with your memory
I will go to sleep alone!
Alone; not lonely
Loneliness is with me!
