Oh childhood, dear childhood,
How you bring back memories sweet,
Of carefree days and endless fun,
When life felt truly complete.
With scraped knees and dirty hands,
I roamed the fields and woods,
Exploring every inch of land,
As if it were a treasure trove of goods.
Those summer days, oh how they shone,
With their warm and gentle breeze,
As I ran and played, never feeling alone,
In the company of trees.
Butterflies and fireflies,
Were my trusted friends,
And with them, I'd chase the skies,
Till the day came to an end.
Oh childhood, dear childhood,
You were a time of wonder,
Where imagination knew no bounds,
And reality seemed a little blunder.
With games of make-believe,
And toys that came to life,
I could be anyone I wanted to be,
With no fear or strife.
Under the stars, I'd lay and dream,
Of all the adventures I'd go on,
And though time passed by it seemed,
My love for you still shone.
Now as I look back with a smile,
And reminisce about those days,
I'm grateful for every moment,
In so many wonderful ways.
Thank you, dear childhood,
For shaping who I am today,
Forever in my heart,
You will forever stay.
