An Ode To Eris Poem by Jacob Underwood

An Ode To Eris

You plummet to let the buttercupian lies enwrap your weakened soul
The messy flip side can grant your idealistic wishes of a buttercream life
Just trust in the cause so you can lie in Eris's wings to become an entertainer
Her gold rays to shine over you and coat you like a candy apple with a perfect core
Your empathy like the poison to her candy just to ruin all of her divine fun

So just erase it become a twisting sweet to make life a soap opera scroll
Every person like a low hanging fruit just to take pleasure in her greatfull strife
To just make call after call watching people panic over a broken operator
Pride building quite a temple seeing the fall of thier egos on the count of four
Like playing a game of Russian roulette intentionally rigged for the joy of a gun

I'm sure you'll fall eventually but that's a part of her grace in the glassy dustbowl
Such joys to watch people crack even if that means pretending to be someone's wife
To dance in ballroom floor with a mask of acid rated as the worst masquerader
Melting and corroding and watching people fall through their anger's floor
It is best for her entertainment to ignore the buzzing of their shun

And one day you'll be able to see all of the fallouts of humanity in her hair of coal
Just to match the doom of her grin sharp enough to catch a butterfly's nightlife
Her beauty a golden sheen enough to corrupt anyone after only an imitator
Unless you think you can really rival the goddess then we welcome the cliffs door
Where you will belong until you take in Eris's perfect beauty like a goldenrod run
