An Ode To Diobasilea - The Consort Poem by Sumitra Mishra

An Ode To Diobasilea - The Consort

Beware the siren dressed in innocence,
Her guise, a trap of subtle elegance.
With every smile, a loaded snare,
A she-devil in an angel's lair.

The silver devil, with eyes so childlike,
Whispering tales, a seductive psyche.
'Let's just be friends, ' she coyly pleads,
A tempting offer, where darkness feeds.

In the light of pre-dawn and after-dusk,
She weaves her web, a sinister lust.
Laughing the devil's laugh within her heart,
A maestro of deceit, tearing worlds apart.

Foul woman, ennui stains your soul,
A predator playing a heart-swallowing role.
Your eyes, like blazing stanchions in the night,
Illuminate betrayal with deceptive light.

To exercise your jaws in this cruel sport,
Each day, a heart crushed in your fort.
No awareness of beauty's sacred law,
You dance with darkness, leaving hearts in awe.

A sad excuse to minimalize betrayal,
For Christ proclaimed the heart's true portrayal.
Lustful glances, a silent adultery,
No micro increment of faithfulness, but treachery.

Call a spade a spade, a lie a lie,
Choose loyalty or with traitors lie.
Truthful hearts, the antidote to deceit,
In the dance of love, let honesty beat.
