An Invocation: My God, I Call On You To Act Poem by Gert Strydom

An Invocation: My God, I Call On You To Act

'They cried out in a loud voice,
'Holy and true Sovereign, how long will it be
before You judge and take revenge
on those living in the earth
who shed our blood? '' Revelation 6: 10

My God I call on You to act
where Putin does the Ukraine attack,

I call You to remember innocent blood that calls,
to act before the Ukraine and humanity falls:

I bring to You war-crimes, crimes against humanity,
I beg for Your salvation and Your mercy.

Hospitals, schools and civilians they do destroy,
let Your cup of wrath be filled and this You annoy,

a nuclear power-plant the Russians did attack,
they are not scared to use things no one can turn back,

they use cluster bombs to kill the innocent,
let there own days of life and power be spent.

They call a cease-fire to break it and kill,
with innocent blood bade humanity ill,

they run amok with tanks on those that flee,
do act without compassion or any mercy.

I call on You who the barbaric Russians
godless on the whole do ignore
to act in wrath against them like Hitler's Prussians,
also to act as You have never before.

In Putin some one worse than Hitler I see,
a godless demonic man that wants victory.

Smite him in Your anger with utter doom,
leave to him for escape no room,

call on Your mightiest host to act,
while Russia does legions of Satan attract:

the Russians are like before:
a scorch on all humanity,
it's something that Your cannot ignore,
I beg You, to listen and to see.

Please act by Your own will and design,
do with Your omnipotence against them align.

Forgive each iniquity
of the people in the Ukraine and of mine,
only goodness, greatness and mercy
do your acts and will define,

You remain in control as the ruler of all,
Your will and power forever is to be,
You know the mightiest and those that as me,
is insignificant and small.

Let Your will be done to all eternity,
set all people on this earth from sin free.
I pray bring to the Ukraine great victory,
against the Russians from all people animosity,

before the entire world is at war,
before on earth no life exists forevermore.
