Enjoyed this thoroughly. You weave magic with words when it comes to describing nature and, of course, love and longing.

Wow! Wow! Wow! In my perception, this is a masterpiece that deserves wide recognition. It should be among the top poems on PH. One of the best love poems I have red, a new favourite. Thanks Valsa for this germ that showed me a picture of Adam and Eve mingling in the graden of Eden free from life's worries and distraction before the great tragedy occurred.

A lovely if unadorned and shameless delight in nature that recalls the simplicity of youth and its exuberance. Few more senior poets could get away with 'bunnies and squirrels hop and jump' with such a lack of pretense and indeed girlish enthusiasm. The imagery is simple and yet fresh and poignant as it flows from your pen and takes the reader back to more innocent days, when love was new, friendship a crowning joy, and yet remains a hint of mature love as well as the poet speaks of the 'chalice of love.' Still nothing tops the excited utterance of the last line... 'Oh! Come on, we shall not tarry…. Let's go! ' Does even the sight of heaven's gate offer such promise, or stir the imagination so?

Your whole second stanza is a great example of NATURE as an analog of paradise, even of heaven. Of course, this is a human perception of nature which we can transcend. Nature itself is red in tooth and claw as Tennyson put it. Bur our human imaginations, our poetic mindset creates visions like your poem which lift us into a blessed appreciation of a humanized and peaceful landscape. This is the vision which restores some of those childhood perfections you put in BEFORE AND NOW. In such an enhanced environment how can we not be on our best, most generous and loving behavior? This is an invitation to be the best individuals - the angels will smile over us and God will bless us - as it should be!
