Five stars for YOU and your poem, BUT I'm torn between thinking that this is 1 - fantasy,2- symbolism for some reality unknown to me, OR 3 -the truth that you are some prisoner in an African jail.

What ever message you see is the one that is given to you. Also I have never been to jail😂

Otha, Reading the last two stanzas, I could ALMOST hear you (one or more of 'you') crying out for relief and an explanation. RIGHT ON, Otha! ! bri ;)

stanza 7: Who is 'You'? Will YOU let me know before I finish reading? ? ? I like the title also; it made me read this. stanza 8; this is very irregular, but I LIKE IT! : )

I guess you are only 'chained' figuratively to a 'wall'. It would be tough if you had to write poetry under THOSE conditions. Try it!

line 5: What does 'ours' refer to? Did you leave out a word by mistake? stanza 6 is my favorite so far. And I like the rhymes so far also. bri ; : )

Poignant write: " Hear our cries and hear our pleas, Hear us ask to set us free! " why are we still in shackles? This question is never answered… good work
