An Empty Stage Poem by Tulsi Shrestha

An Empty Stage

An Empty Stage
A stage that provided a common platfarm
For so many actors and actresses
Misunderstood himself as a sole creator.
He forgot, success is outcome of team -work
He ensured the credit of achievement
Inside his own pocket, in his favour.
The concept of collective performance
Was avoided to satisfy his ego.
His vanity enforced and created
Adverse situation for talented artists
No option, just to leave for self -esteem.
Departure was not associated self -respect.
The charm of stage got damaged.
An empty hall without any recitations
No echo and clappings of audiences.
The relationship between heart & its beats
Complementary to each other.
The violation of ultimate reality
Turned misfortune for stage and artists
The clash of ego and conflict of interest
Destroyed creativity of artists
And charm, glamor of hall.
Eye without light, bird without features
No vision and no flight
Indeed an irrecoverable loss for both.
