An Elegy In Metaphors Poem by David Wood

An Elegy In Metaphors

Rating: 5.0

I am that tired polar bear
Struggling in ever decreasing
Arctic ice. Ponderously caring
For its cub. A car running on
Empty. A stale loaf that's lost
Its taste. That once red apple
Yet to be discarded. A mobile
Phone with a sleepy battery.
That dull never ending hangover.
The evening that waits for nights
Rest that never ever comes.
Travelling on a moving escalator
That I cannot get off.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
