An Apology In Order To Remember - For Coach Don Cherry Poem by Richard Wlodarski

An Apology In Order To Remember - For Coach Don Cherry

Rating: 5.0

Hey, great Coach Cherry
We love your brevity
Your creativity
Your sense of liberty

Hey, Coach you're the damn best
Ages ahead of rest
We love how you dress
And how you caress

Don, we love how you laugh
And make us really laugh
We love colour of your speech
Though, at times, it makes us screech

Hey, Mister Don Cherry
Welcome to this country
Of opportunity
Where everyone is free

Hey, Mister Liberty
Welcome to the city
Of respectability
Where you do your witty ditty

You seem to hate Ruskies
And resent their freebies
Turbans seem to be your dislike
And you want them to take a hike

Your commentary's been colourful
It's made us feel quite wonderful
But this time you've crossed the border
And made us feel lousier

I say to you, Mister Cherry
And so very respectfully
It's time for an apology
To best city of diversity

It's inexcusable what he said. But for him to refuse to apologize...that's incomprehensible. And unforgivable.
