Amitava, beautiful, sad, some joy, all in one poem. Got a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. Wanted you to be able to hold on to her, but the angel took her away from you again in your poem. Totally loved it, Amitava, it's a perfect 10. RoseAnn
Oh, meant to say hope you had a great birthday, and many happy returns.
Very beautiful and poignant Amitava. Those of us who have lost loved ones can relate to this, yearning to see them again.

Happy birthday, and i join Valsa ji in her wishes and prayers...the poem has a deep touch of nostalgia...the lines added in quotation marks are adding a dramatic element into this passionate write up!
Amitava, first of all let me wish you a very Happy Birthday and a year ahead of joy and success in whatever you undertake! This write has really touched me.... I can feel your pain and your sense of loneliness! Be comforted at the thought that at least in your dream, you got a glimpse of her! By next birthday, may someone come into your life to give you cheer! !
A really lovely poem with a sad story to tell The angel brought me this night to see you and to tell i was always yours and still i am thine. A very emotional poem lovely to read
I would love to read 'An Angel in the Night II by Amitava Sur' in which Amitava talks and laughs with his beloved angel and sees no distance between them anymore. Perhaps you might feel able to write such a continuation after reading 'Death is Nothing at All' by Henry Scott Holland. I hope reading it brings you comfort and joy.
