Angels make sudden and unexpected appearances in some of my poems. And I have encountered them in many other poems by poets at Poemhunter. And now yours, with the angel helpless to stop or reverse our human behavior but filled with grief for its cost to humanity. There's more than poignance here, there's an undercurrent of anger that we have allowed this to happen. But I don't want to surrender to that anger. Far better to write a poem like yours which shows the compassion of this pure being and by her/his/its example points toward a happier reality. That's what your angel, and my angel and all of our angels do - they point the way.
