This is to ascertain
that I am getting rid
of the echoes of your
laughter, thoughts of
holding your hand and
walking on wet streets,
all the long drives on which
we never went, all the hours
we spent talking, looking and
cooking together—which never
happened.
This is to ascertain
that I have work to do.
