Amongst the snowdrifts,
I see you like a dandelion-seed, spendrift.
And I ask myself, do you not desire this union?
With each bonding aspect of our journey together
Each soul-searching moment has me melting.
Holding on to the Earth, seeing you almost spiritual.
Seeing you, almost like an empty vessel, a ghost.
Okay, so I follow you, without as much as a whisper.
To watch you closer as the snow falls thick and faster
As the snow falls faster and faster
Oh, where did your footsteps go?
Oh, where did you lose your glass slipper
Were you just an apparition all along?
Losing you with every false step I take only prolongs this walk.
Into the quickening dark.
Oh, were you once a catalyst spark?
An illusion, an ignition kickstarting my dead heart
If only in my haste, my self-deception
I could have closed my eyes.
And lost you from my compass from the very start.
But my heart is untroubled, it may always fast.
