WOW! This is so cool. I love the imagery, the writing, the ideas presented here. Sign me up! The last time I thought about shadow as being was when reading Peter Pan. I'd like to write more, but need to go. This is a poem I will return to.
THIS IS A POEM I WILL RETURN TO. Me too. The poem changed especisally stanzas 3 and 4 in the third revision, so the poem surprises me when I read it. The Other Daniel may have writrten it.
This is superb. The poet seeks an amalgmation with the shadows, a union with darkness rather than running away from it. The shadows of the night are enticing n seductive n offer to make the poet whole spiritually. And the poet is not alone in his mission, he has a companion too. Together they take the plunge into darkness n emerge richer in the spiritual sense. We can grow n heal by embracing our fears. Escapism or evasion weakens our spirit. Great work.
Awesome........ How long will we remain poised in this strange union? Time is suspended, space occurs elsewhere.
One of the better poems I have read in a while. In the fourth from the last line, you may want to put the word, Which after from
Daniel! ! ! ! ! ! This is magnificent writing- -this is so well-written it gives me the shivers deep in my soul! It stuns me- -why? - I don't know why- -because Ophelia in 3 Acts was stunning in its excellence and intelligence. This packs emotion in every word builds emotion in every line- -not surprising in the poet who wrote Daughter Remembers [forgive me if I slaughtered the title- I am writing them down from memory and memory and I are not especially close these days]. I wish the voting scale went to a million stars cuz I'd give you all them and still think I shorted you. This poem is my all-time favorite and should be Poem of the Year [being as a day is too short]! 10++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
