Liz, this is amazing. I think it's my favorite of everything you've written and that's saying a lot.
Quite wonderful, Edgar Allan Poe would quite adore this, and remember Edgar did not reach an appreciative audience originally, until his writing was received in France, sometimes it takes time before the macabre has an informed audience. Reminds me of stories by Poe, and because you do not write with the intensity of The Tell Tale Heart' I am not sure why some readers here are confusing writing with personality. The power blinks out and the clock flashes endlessly 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 12: 00 is a famously established motif, however you carry your theme and repetition with stylish continuance. There is definitely a future and readership for your writing.
