Politicians and media proclaim I am free
Never mind the prison walls all around me
Right wing, left wing flying upon all our backs
Thieving private bankers cover up their tracks

We are all in prison, and the only difference is to what extent it's our own fault! Before any talk of freedom, we've got to think if we really want it, respect it, and give it when we're asked to! Unfortunately, the majority of people are bad rulers inside, so they can't elect good ones; and if they do, they usually can't keep them long! !

Stark look at reality, a stellar portrayal of life on earth today! A totally perfect poem, detailing all the ills of our politicians and governments and how they bound us and still try to claim we are free from their tyranny! All the evils of this world are mixed together under the guise of government, which does nothing, but cause poverty and war to gain profits for itself and it's politicians! We all need to break free from these greedy, selfish despots and take our own paths to freedom without their so-called help! A very honest and true message of what our world is going through today. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

Dear RoseAnn, I can grasp all the passion this striking poem has given you, but how can we really break free from the despots we grow ourselves? There is no path to freedom except being true to oneself, and making the right choice! Governments are made up of big children whose parents didn't let them be what they were meant to be! Democracy, equality, and justice all begin from home, but untill parents learn to make the best choices in the way they treat children, I'm afraid we're going to have just more and more greedy, selfish despots!

An excellent poem in all of its substance and details. We may not be chained and bound but are we really free? The seeds of injustice, inequality, immorality among others are still being sown among us. We will persevere and overcome. Thanks for sharing this.

Great poem. Man is free yet everywhere is in chain says J.J. Rosseau. Your poem captured what the world is going through today. The chains need to be broken
