A very sad situation expressed so well. This is a disease that kills bit by bit. Thank you for sharing it Neela.

Have better understanding/insight into this dreadful disease. Thank you! I don't think I'll ever look at a sufferer as I did before. Congratulation! ! !

How unfortunate for one to be a victim of such a problem? Worst thing is to find such people on the road. Well written and congrats for being the member's PoD. Thanks for sharing the eyeopener.

a poem of the reality of life to some unfortunate people? one of which is a disgrace because we live in a world of plenty! well written.

The last line falls like an unnecessary heavy hand upon the otherwise softly evocative lines of this person's plight. The poem stirs emotion very effectively until the bald pronouncement brings the curtain down prematurely. The compassion amidst the sadness and even terror of the situation is palpable, why cut it off so abruptly with the sharp knife of clinical declaration. It feels like I was reprimanded at the end for having empathized with this man for his loss of humanity, that in the final analysis he is really only some medical diagnosis.

The poem brings to fore the plight of an Alzheimer patient quite succinctly. Thanks, Neela ji. His voice was broken / and replies are more broken. Arriving at sunset point / he has lost his keys / of locked memory.

He was lying on the road among the beggars. I saw a similar scene recently in my travels. I saw this person lying on the roadside in the morning. Then lying in the same position in the evening. Beautiful poem bringing reality to the forefront. Thank you.

Alzheimers one could argue is a disease in which the soul leaves the body before it is ready to let it go. Good poem, horrific ailment in which there is no cure.

Poignant. Alzheimer is a dreadful disease. A feeling of living dead comes to mind when a patient of Alzheimer is seen.
