I think it's a fantastic idea for a poem. There's always someone who doesn't have it quite as good as you. It brings one of my favorite epicurus quotes to mind: 'Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.” I feel like you might have slightly overused commas in an attempt to add a pausing effect. Just a thought!

I like your line 'you have to take you with you'. A sensitively written honest poem and a timely reminder to all of us. It's about perception, not reality. Some of the happiest people in the world are the poorest. Thanks for posting this Jim. love, Allie xxxxxxxx

This was an awesome write and very true. Sometimes when we're down and out and not quite ourselves we tend to forget that things can be worse, and that there is always someone worse than we are. A very good write....
